European fashion has had an influence on the US on many occasions since the early 1960s. US late introduction to the fashion world showed other countries that they all serve the same purpose. That prupose was to make fashion bigger than what its made oout to be.
This industry was all about elegency and high class fashion. Models showed off these works for those who could actually afford these pricy outfits and dresses. On the streets women in the 1960s wore mostly mod. Mod, short for a modern, would consist of shrit with big graphics or pants with a design of some sort and a shirt with the exact same design to match.

MINI SKIRT
The mini skirt in the 1960s was very popular. It was one of the main trends for women in the 60s but also controversial due to the fact that everyone couldn't pull off the mini skirt. This fashion trend took off because it was so different and to wear it well you had to be youthful to get away with an outfit that was so controversial among adults. The mini skirt was not a trend that they would want to mock.
Low heeled shoes were the 1960s version of our 2007 stilettos and pumps. Pointed stilettos and pumps was not a big deal then as it was a few years ago. Boots also were worn in the 60s. Boots that almost reached your knees were a fashion statement. "A cult for Dr. Scholl clog sandals worn in offices and outdoors was all the rage in the mid to late sixties in the same way that Birkenstocks were popular in the 1990s." 1

SIXTIES HAIR
Although the sixties were years of racial tension, fashion was something that they all had in common. They all looked alike and dressed the same. White, Black, Women, Men and children of all races wore similar clothing.
